As the combustion community around the world celebrates the new year, planning for the 37th International Symposium on Combustion at the Convention Centre Dublin (CCD), Ireland is well underway. Program Co-Chairs (PCCs) Heinz Pitsch and Hai Wang are currently evaluating several processes that form the foundation of a successful symposium. The paper submission process, combustion colloquia categories, and potential colloquia teams are all under review. The selection of possible speakers will also be brought forward during the first quarter of 2017.

The local host team (LHT) within the Ireland Section of The Combustion Institute is currently working with Keynote, the local professional conference organizer (LPCO), to assemble sponsorship and exhibition opportunities. The LHT is also evaluating potential facilities for the technical and social programs. The official site visit for the CI President, PCCs, and the LHT to discuss general symposium needs is scheduled for July 2017.

The 37th Symposium will convene in Dublin, Ireland from Sunday, 29 July through Friday, 3 August 2018. The biennial symposium provides a scientific venue for sharing ideas and experiences on the development and applications of combustion science. As an internationally recognized city, Dublin offers our combustion community world-class opportunities to interact with scientists and companies in an exciting and dynamic environment.
